The ICPIG covers nearly all aspects of phenomena in ionized gases. It explores the fundamentals of all kinds of plasmas and electrical discharges and their applications. Fields of research include collision phenomena between neutral and charged particles, transport, ionization, ion-molecule reactions, radical and neutral interactions, to applications such as edge plasmas in fusion devices, astrophysical plasmas, semiconductor processing, light sources and gaseous lasers, environmental protection and pollution control, sterilization and tissue engineering. Detailed information on the conference topics is given in the corresponding section. The scientific programme will consist of 10 General lectures 24 Topical lectures 2 Workshops The Von Engel Prize lecture IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics, 2009 Poster presentations The invited speakers for general and topical lectures have been selected by the International Scientific Committee. CONFERENCE ENDORSEMENT OF IUPAP’S POLICIES The organizers have provided assurance that the XXIX International Conference on Phenomena in Ionized Gases will be conducted in accordance with the principles of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, as stated in the ICSU-Document, “Universality of Science” (sixth edition, 1989), regarding the free circulation of scientists for international purposes. In particular, no bona fide scientist will be excluded from participation on the grounds of national origin, nationality or political considerations unrelated to science. |
